On June 23, social media agency, fishbat, releases another edition of fishbat Splash, which highlights Facebook hitting one million advertisers, its addition of photo comments and Twitters #FollowMe feature.
According to the fishbat Splash video, Facebook hit one million active advertisers on Tuesday after opening the platform in 2007. Active means that those advertisers have created a Facebook ad in the past 28 days.

Facebook advertising has become an essential component to the digital marketing industry, he says. Facebook has made its advertising platform almost completely indispensable. The social networks holds an extreme amount of data on all of its users, but that data could be used to target highly specific demographics. Advertisers love that.
Facebook also began rolling out photo comments this week, the video says. Previously, users would have to use a URL to comment with a photo, while being redirected to the webpage version of the image. Now, users are able to reply to a post by uploading a picture directly into the comment.
Darrohn says the new feature is just another way for brands and people to interact with each other. Social media is all about engagement and expressing yourself, he says. Adding photo comments is just another way people can interact and its a feature people have expressed interest in for a while.
Lastly, the video discusses Twitters new #FollowMe feature, which creates videos that depict a users digital footprint on the social network. It compiles top tweets, pictures, videos, favorites, followers and interactions, while packaging it in a shareable video format. Darrohn says its a useful feature that could help brands highlight their social activity. He also says that it could be a portfolio-enhancing feature for individual Twitter users looking for jobs in digital media.
