Zurmo Reports Demand for Open Source, Gamified CRM Doubles in Q1 2013

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 27, 2013

Zurmo, Inc. today announced a significant increase in demand for the Zurmo Open Source CRM application during Q1 2013. Compared to the previous quarter, the company reports the number of active installations has doubled. The total number of users across all installations is estimated to be over 10,000 across 100 countries.

Doubling the amount of active Zurmo installations over a period of three months is something we had not expected, Ray Stoeckicht, Co-Founder of Zurmo. These numbers are based on live heartbeats that we call back from active installations. This metric is the most meaningful, as it reflects real usage of the application. We designed Zurmo so that people will actively use it on a daily basis. It is rewarding to see thats happening as much as it is.

Zurmo management attributes much of this growth to interest in Gamification, a concept that employs game mechanics to non-traditional game environments. Zurmo utilizes Gamification to engage with CRM users and encourage better communication, time management, data stewardship, and other best practices related to customer facing processes.

One of the most unique things about Zurmo is that the application is gamified at its core. The very nature of gamification the fact it has this addictive way of engaging users and recognizing them for their accomplishments has much to do with why were seeing so much growth, states Stafford McKay, Director of Marketing for Zurmo. Were doing everything we can to bring our users the very best as we approach our next phase of Gamification development. Were looking forward to attending the GSummit in San Francisco next month where well meet with other thought leaders to exchange the latest gamification trends and best practices so that Zurmo can continue on its disruptive path of instigating a user-centric paradigm shift in CRM.

Zurmo has been mentioned in several recent publications related to the topic, including the book “Business Gamification for Dummies” by Kris Duggan and Kate Shoup.
